Recently, the signing ceremony of the EPC general contract for the Guangdong Refining and Chemical Integration Project, a joint venture between China and Science and Technology, was held in Guangzhou. Sinopec Refining Engineering and China Science and Technology (Guangdong) Refining Co., Ltd. have signed a general contract for the design, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the refining part of the Guangdong Refining and Chemical Integration Project, a joint venture between China and Science and Technology.

 

The signing of the contract marks the entry of the highly anticipated China Science and Technology Refining and Chemical Integration Project into the fast lane of engineering construction. At present, the detailed design of the project has been fully carried out, the procurement of long-term equipment has been completed, and the on-site foundation construction bidding is being initiated.
It is reported that the total amount of the contract is approximately RMB 8.712 billion, which will come into effect from the date of signing. The contract stipulates a delivery date of October 2019. The main scope of work of this contract includes: 10 million tons/year atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, 2 million tons/year young hydrocarbon recovery unit, 4.2 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, 4.4 million tons/year residual oil hydrotreating unit, 2 million tons/year hydrocracking unit, 2 million tons/year diesel hydrotreating and refining unit, 1.8 million tons/year continuous reforming unit and other major production units in the refining sector, as well as supporting utility units and auxiliary production facilities.
The Sino Scientific Joint Venture Guangdong Refining and Chemical Integration Project is located in the Sino Scientific Refining and Chemical Project on Donghai Island, Zhanjiang, Guangdong. The first phase of the project includes a 10 million ton/year refining series production unit and an 800000 ton/year ethylene series production unit. According to the strategic deployment of the headquarters' Maozhan Integrated Refining and Chemical Base, in order to build the China Science and Technology Refining and Chemical Integrated Project into a world-class refining and chemical enterprise, Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd., as the project headquarters, has done a lot of hard and meticulous work in terms of project technical route selection, overall process design, overall layout optimization, and other aspects. It has completed the overall and basic design of the project, and completed the digital design of the project A series of planning and implementation plans for building intelligent factories. According to the contract, Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd. will undertake the EPC general contracting construction of 82 units of 10 production units and system supporting facilities, including 10 million tons/year atmospheric and vacuum distillation, 4.2 million tons/year catalytic cracking, and 4.4 million tons/year residual oil hydrogenation.
